In Kakadu you can stay at safari retreats, fishing lodges, camp grounds and crocodile-shaped inns.

Escape into Kakadu National Park and celebrate the beauty of the tropical landscape, and the local indigenous culture.

Accommodation options range from wilderness safari retreats, cabins and campgrounds to truly a unique hotel that is shaped to look like a crocodile.

Some have airstrips and run joy flights so you can see the terrain from the air. Some have a gallery to display and sell art by local Aboriginal artists. And others serve the local seafood at their in-house restaurants.

Most will help you to book a tour or suggest things to include in your itinerary, and many organise their own activities such as guided fishing safaris, Aboriginal culture tours and bird watching expeditions. And all are a comfortable base from which to set out each day to see why the area is World Heritage-listed.
