Journey to Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve where breathtaking views are around every corner 😍 The @visitcentralaus reserve is on the traditional lands of the Southern Arrernte people and is known as Wurre. Best accessed by a four-wheel drive vehicle, this lesser known geological wonder is particularly stunning in the early morning light or late afternoon when it changes from ochre red to orange and purple ❤🧡💜 The short walk around the clay pan is well worth doing, especially in wildflower season. In May we wrote - The skies light up at Uluṟu for Wintjiri Wiru, a spectacular new light and sound show, that combines ancient Aṉangu storytelling with 1,100 luminous drones and state-of-the-art laser and light projection technology. As custodians of the land, Aṉangu hold the Mala story from Kaltukatjara to Uluṟu. To share their story, RAMUS designed and produced an artistic platform using drones, light and sound to create an immersive storytelling experience. There will be two shows nightly at Uluṟu from May until December each year, with one show a night operating in January and February. It's difficult to describe the feeling that comes over you when you first lay eyes on Kata Tjuṯa (The Olgas). Equal parts ancient and imposing, these ochre-coloured rock domes are spread over more 20 square kilometres and soar up to 546 metres above the surrounding plain, almost 200 metres higher than Uluṟu. Choose from a number of walking trails that range from easy strolls to longer, more difficult tracks. Visit one of the viewing areas at sunrise or sunset and watch the domes glow and change colour with the surrounding desert landscape 🧡 Located about 40 kilometres from Uluṟu, ‘Kata Tjuta’ is a Pitjantjatjara term that means ‘many heads’.
