Darwin’s North Australia Barra Fishing is a family owned and operated business, with professional guides who have extensive knowledge of fishing the unique billabongs, rivers and wetlands of the Northern Territory.

They’re also one of the only fishing charter operators who are licensed to fish in Kakadu National Park.

Offering charters from 1 to 7 days, explore prime locations such as Kakadu National Park, Corroboree Billabong, Dundee Beach, the Finiss River, Shady Camp on the Mary River, Darwin Harbour, Adelaide River, Leaders Creek, and secret local big barra hotspots.

You can fish for species such as saratoga, tarpon, threadfin salmon, mackerel, snapper and of course, the mighty barramundi – all from comfortable, customised boats perfectly suited for your Top End fishing experience.

1 Day Fishing Tour - Darwin and Surrounds

Darwin’s North Australia Barra Fishing operate 'One Day Fishing Charters' from May until December, and head to various locations in and around Darwin & surrounds!

They'll pick you up from your accommodation in Darwin at 5 am, and travel straight to your fishing destination to be out on the water at sunrise. You'll spend the day out on the water targeting a variety of species and we'll have you safely back into town by approximately 4 pm.

If you head to the scenic Corroboree Billabong you'll be lucky enough to see a huge variety of birds, wild pigs and buffalos, not to mention some of the biggest crocs in the territory!

The charter is fully inclusive of transfers, snacks, lunches and soft drinks, as well as your tackle, boat and guide - all you need to bring is sunscreen, hats and your cameras! Keep in mind that they recommend long sleeved shirts and long pants to keep the UV away.

Wet Season Run Off Tours - Kakadu National Park

DNA Barra Fishing offers extended "run off" charters in Kakadu National Park, living aboard our mothership during March, April & May.

The run off after the wet season is famous for big Barramundi action, and if you choose to fish the king tides then you won't be disappointed! They also fish the neap tides where you'll be able to target a huge variety of fish including Barramundi, Black Jewfish, Threadfin Salmon, Blue Salmon, Golden Snapper, Queenfish, Giant Trevally and Golden Trevally to name a few.

You'll be fishing the mighty South Alligator River, the picturesque East Alligator River, Murgenella Creek, Salt Water Creek, as well as Barron and Field Islands. Due to the remote location of Kakadu you'll definitely be fishing without the hassle of crowds!

Wet Season Build Up Charters - Arnhem Land, NT

DNA Barra Fishing now offer extended live-aboard mothership charters during the 'Build Up' -
October, November & December.

Fishing the pristine waters of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, you'll be targeting a huge variety of fish including Barramundi, Black Jewfish, Threadfin Salmon, Blue Salmon, Mangrove Jacks, Golden Snapper, Queenfish, and Giant Trevally to name a few. You'll be fishing the Mini Mini river system, the Iwalg Creek and Ilamaryi River, as well as all systems in between. Due to the remote location of Arnhem Land you'll definitely be fishing without the hassle of crowds!

They run with a limit of 4 clients per fishing boat to ensure utmost client comfort and to provide maximum fishing opportunity. Their fishing boats are Oceanmaster 651 Twisters, custom built for the territory with your safety and comfort our priority. Their experienced guides have been fishing the territory for over 30 years so you can be assured that you are in good hands!
